Welcome to Whitney!Whitney
is a great elementary school serving close to 400 students who
live on the Boise Bench. Whitney is a “Hands
Off” and "Kind Words" School where students are expected to treat each other with kindness
and respect; bullying and mean language are never tolerated!
We have a "Dual Immersion" kindergarten class that
started in the fall of 2008. This is an excellent opportunity for
children to have instruction in two different languages. We have a program called "GOAL" that sponsors fun
activities before and after school and during the summer. This
gives our kids a safe and fun place to be in the hours before and after
school and in the summer. Our school serves 130 English
Language Learners who represent 24 different countries. We are anxiously watching our new building being built on the back of our school property. That building will be ready for us to occupy by the fall of 2009. We love helping our Whitney students to enjoy learning something new every day! Jean Lovelace
