| I was born in Niagara Falls, New York. I grew up
on an island in the Niagara River, four miles upstream from the falls.
Water skiing was a favorite summertime activity.
After graduating from high school in 1975, I attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where I majored in Life Sciences. I married a fellow student and relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1979, beginning my career in elementary education. I earned my master’s degree in 1983 and celebrated the birth of my son Jonathan that same year. My family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1992 where my husband, John, published The Flagstaff Weekly, a community newspaper. After two years, we moved to Boise. I began my tenure in Idaho teaching in Caldwell. However, after the birth of my daughter Lucy in 1998, I became more focused on the need for greater involvement in my home city and transferred to the Boise School District. I am tremendously happy to be a part of the Whittier family and plan to dedicate the rest of my career to our school. My personal interests include traveling, gardening, and reading. I am a Disney collector. |
