Welcome to the Special Education Services area of the Boise School District's web site. The list below details many of the services we offer. As content is created, additional links will be activated to detailed program information.

We offer a wide range of programs serving students from preschool through age 21 that address a variety of student and family needs and concerns. Our program goals, curriculum and materials are developmentally appropriate and focused towards meeting the individual needs of students.

• Early Childhood Special Education - a half day program for developmentally delayed 3 - 5 year olds.
• Resource Room Programs - K-12, available in all schools.
• Extended Resource & Self-Contained Classrooms - K-12, available upon approval of IEP teams and special education supervisors.
• Programs for students with behavioral and emotional difficulties are available upon approval of IEP teams and area supervisors.
• Deaf and Hard of Hearing
• Ancillary Services - including:
      Psychologists
      Occupational/Physical Therapy
      Visually Impaired
      Audiology
      Speech/Language Therapy

• Assistive Technology - equipment and systems used to improve the functional capabilities of our students with disabilities.
• Homebound Services - for students who will be out of school for 10 days or more due to illness or injury.
• Transition Programs - a variety of programs aimed at facilitating life and employment skills development.
