| The Boise School Volunteer Program coordinates the
recruitment, training, and placement of volunteers
in the classroom. There are currently over 10,000 volunteers
contributing 300,000 hours annually in our District.
Volunteers from all walks of life - college students,
senior citizens, parents, and patrons, share one common
interest - our children.
Volunteers have an opportunity to give of themselves
as they help children learn and grow. An integral part
of promoting successful schools and confident students,
volunteers use their various talents while learning
valuable new skills.
Our
Mission:
As advocates of children in partnership with schools,
parents, community, and business, we support the educational
process with time and resources to promote student
success.
Boise Volunteers Advisory Council
Volunteers have been working within the Boise
School District for more than 30 years. Thousands
of hours of service are given to our students every
year. The Boise Advisory Council consists of members
of the community who have volunteered at their
children’s schools for numerous years. These
volunteers continue to serve by assisting volunteer
coordinators at each site, developing curriculum
enhancement, and training volunteers.

"The
Boise School District is special for so
many reasons, not the least of which is the tireless
dedication and commitment of our District's
valuable volunteers. The Boise School Volunteer
Program works because of the support and
caring
attitude of 8,000 individuals. Each and
every school day, these volunteers graciously
share
their time, talent and energy to help our
children. It is because of their volunteer efforts
that
the Boise School District performs so well
on any measurement of success."
