GUIDELINES FOR KEEPING SICK CHILDREN HOME
Each day many parents are faced with a decision should they keep their sick child at home or send them off to school. A sick child cannot learn effectively and is unable to participate in classes in a meaningful way. Keeping a sick child home prevents the spread of illness in the school community and allows the child an opportunity to rest and recover. Often the way a child looks and acts can make the decision an obvious one.
Depending on the designated category of community transmission of COVID-19 in the area, the following are documents available to help parents determine if they should keep their sick child(ren) home:
Category 1 Green/Yellow 2 COVID Spread BSD GUIDELINES FOR STAYING HOME IF ILL revised 3.11.21
Category 3 (Orange & Red) 7.21.21
Please contact the nurse at your child’s school if you have any questions or need any assistance.
