We appreciate your interest in becoming a Student Teacher in the Boise School District.   

Below is information on the required actions to become a Student Teacher in the Boise School District.  If you have questions, please email [email protected].

A Student Teacher is defined as a student seeking academic credit through an accredited college or university for the purposes of gaining teaching certification and/or licensure.  A student teacher is assigned to a teacher(s) for an extended period of time, usually one semester to one year in duration.  This is generally the capstone event in a student's college or university program.
First Steps:
  • Work with your University to be identified as a Student Teacher
  • You will receive email communication from the Boise School District when you have been assigned as a Student Teacher with information on the process steps and details
Required Actions:
The following steps are required before attending a Student Teacher onboarding appointment:
  1. Complete a Student Teacher Google Form (this will be emailed to you)
  2. Register a WinOcular account (or login if you are already registered)
  3. Submit a Substitute Teacher Application
  4. Complete the following forms:

  • Turn in completed forms
  • School ID picture will be taken
  • School ID Badge will be printed
