Friday, March 13, 2020

Dear Boise School District Staff Member:

As we work through this unprecedented situation, we continue to collaborate with Central District Health.  Beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020, we will be providing daily (M-F) briefings at 4 p.m. on our Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resource & Information webpage and through the Boise School District’s Social Media accounts (Twitter and Facebook).  The daily briefings will provide the most recent and updated information related to COVID-19 from the District.  To stay informed, please be sure to take the time to review this daily information as well as the COVID-19 FAQ that will be sent to all parents and guardians today.

Steps we have taken include:

In addition to the above-mentioned steps that we have taken, we wanted to share some information that Regence has provided us regarding our health insurance and COVID-19:

  • If your doctor believes you need to be tested for COVID-19, there is no pre-authorization required.
  • Our medical insurance through Regence will cover the cost of a COVID-19 test including the office visit with no cost to the member.
  • For medications that treat chronic conditions, such as heart disease, asthma, diabetes, and others, members may request a 90-day refill. Please note that some drugs are not eligible for extended day supply, including controlled substances and certain specialty drugs.
  • For more information from Regence, please see Coronavirus: How we're responding to COVID-19.

Our first priority each and every day is the health and safety of our students, parents, staff and school community. Please know that we are committed to keeping you informed as this rapidly evolving situation develops.

Sincerely,

Coby Dennis

Superintendent
