Board of Trustees Approves School Closure Through May 22, 2020

To provide students, parents and staff with clarity and certainty, Boise School District Trustees today approved extending the current soft closure through May 22nd, 2020. The decision allows district officials to move forward on a number of critical fronts including graduation, personal item pick-up, and summer school.

Graduation Ceremonies Postponed Until Late July, Senior Celebrations Planned for May

Today, the Boise School District Board of Trustees approved video celebrations of seniors in May for all high schools, as well as postponing live, in-person ceremonies until the week of July 20th. Any in-person gatherings in July will require compliance with CDC guidelines in place at the time.

Retrieving School Items

Principals are working on plans to allow families and students to retrieve personal items from schools in the coming weeks.

Schools Release Schedules for Next Phase of Remote Learning

Beginning April 13th, parents and students will have access to grade level and course specific weekly lessons for the remainder of the school year. Teachers will be available to provide students and families with support and feedback as they complete the learning. Individual school support schedules will be shared with families in the coming days.

As a reminder, student grades will not be negatively impacted during remote learning. Teachers will still be able to provide opportunities for enrichment and growth, and students can absolutely use this time to improve their grades.

All District Tennis Courts Closed, Limited Use of Tracks

Following the decision by the City of Boise to close its tennis courts, all Boise School District tennis courts are now closed. School tracks will remain open, but all gathering areas (bleachers, benches, etc.) are off-limits.
