On Friday, February 7, 2020, South Junior High School hosted the annual Boise School District Tech 9 Co2 Dragster Championships. This annual event allows ninth grade students from the Boise School District the opportunity to design, build and compete with the top Co2 dragsters from the District's participating junior high schools.
This STEM-based activity culminates months of hard work and dedication by the students and junior high technology teachers as they work through the engineering design process in hopes of being crowned the fastest Co2 Dragster in the city.

Top points over all: Les Bois Jr High
1st place racer: Shawn Spencer- Les Bois Jr High
2nd place racer: Mark Palsulich- West Jr High
3rd place racer: Kieron Waibel
Best In Show (Student's Choice): Rio Sol- South Jr High
Best In Show (Teacher's Choice): Damon Wargo- North Jr High
