With earning first place in their Division, Team Tators then had the opportunity to move on to the Einstein Field to face off with the other 5 Division Winning teams from around the world.  At the end of several hours of extremely intense competition on Saturday afternoon, Team Tators eventually led their alliance to a fifth place finish in the World Championships!

"This is a very impressive achievement in a competition field of 30,000+ students and 1,400 robotics teams from more than 70 different countries," said Dr. Holly MacLean, Principal, Treasure Valley Mathematics & Science Center. "Considering the fact that this has been a rebuilding year, as about half of the team graduated in 2018, this is truly a major accomplishment to be among the top teams in the world."

In their first Regional Competition this 2019 season, Team Tators finished in 24th place out of the 35 competing robots. In the next Regional, they finished in 3rd place out of 27 participating teams.  In their third Regional they placed 3rd out of 37 teams, but they led the winning alliance.

"This year has been challenging...but they were up for this challenge as a result of great dedication, hard work, perseverance and team work that led them to represent Boise and Idaho so well at the Championship level," explained Dr. MacLean. "Congratulations to the students and mentors of Boise District's Team Tators Robotics!"
