Graduating students from the Boise School District's Student Transition Education Program particiated in a very special graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

The STEP program provides special education services to students ages 18-21 in the following transition areas:

  • Vocational/Employment
  • Self-Management/Home Living
  • Personal/Social
  • Leisure/Recreation
  • General Community Functioning

A total of eight (8) students participated in the graduation ceremonies held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at South Junior High School's Auditorium. Families, friends, teachers, District administrators and others gathered to celebrate this major milestone in the lives of these students.

We congratulate each of the students, who are pictured above:

Each of these students have met with significant success while enrolled in the STEP program.  A special slide show highlighting the accomplishments of each of these students was shown during the STEP Graduation Ceremony.  The slide show captures the special moments each of these students has enjoyed while enrolled in the Boise School District's STEP Program.

In addition, a special moment in the ceremony took place when STEP Graduate Paw Kee Lar (featured in the video below) sang the song I'll Always Remember You in honor of retiring Boise School District Superintendent Dr. Don Coberly, who has played an instrumental role in supporting the STEP program over his 35-year District career.  Watch the musical performance in the following video.
