Trustees and Superintendency

Note: Following the resignation of Trustee Doug Park on September 10, 2018, the Board of Trustees has announced a public process to fill the vacancy on the Board. The Board of Trustees declares the seat of Trustee Park to be vacant and has set a 4:30 p.m., September 28, 2018 deadline for nominations of candidates for the vacancy.  Applications to be considered by the Board are currently being accepted.  Review the Trustee Appointment Process Packet for more information, including how to apply. 

It is anticipated that the six remaining Trustees will vote to fill the vacancy in a public meeting to be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board room at the District Services Center located at 8169 W. Victory Road, Boise. Appointment of a new Trustee will be made on October 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the District Services Center located at 8169 W. Victory Rd., Boise.

Nancy Gregory, President

Nancy Gregory was elected to the Board in September 2002 and was elected President of the Board in September 2014. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. The Gregory family has lived in Boise since 1990. Nancy has volunteered in classrooms, served on numerous building and District committees, mentored parents, served as PTA/PTO president numerous times and organized a parent advocacy group.

Her work on the Board has included policy development, legislative advocacy for public schools, and work on boundary, strategic planning, transportation and facilities committees.

Maria Greeley, Vice President

Maria Greeley has been involved with the Boise School District for the past ten years as a parent, substitute teacher, volunteer, PTO officer and elementary school Leadership Team member. Working as a substitute gave Maria the opportunity to see both the successes and the challenges the District faces and will help guide her decisions as part of the Board of Trustees for the next six years.

Maria and her husband Neil have four children currently enrolled in the Boise School District. She attended Barat College in Illinois and the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Maria also was co-chair for the 2012 Boise School District Levy Campaign.

Alicia Estey, Trustee

Alicia Estey was elected to the Board in September of 2018. She is a long-time advocate for high-quality public education and has dedicated most of her career in public education administration. Since 2006, she has held various roles at Boise State University, including Senior Policy Analyst and Regulatory Compliance Officer, Director of Tax, and Executive Director of Institutional Compliance and Ethics. She is currently the Senior Associate Vice President of Campus Operations and the University's Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Boise State, Alicia worked in the tax department of the J.R. Simplot Company. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Boise State, a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Idaho.

Dave Wagers, Trustee

Dave Wagers was appointed to the Board in January 2015. He attended Boise Schools and graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. Dave earned a Certified Management Accountant designation in 1991. He has been president of Idaho Candy Company since 1998. Dave has been active in the community for many years serving on numerous community, non-profit and education boards.

Dave and his wife Jill have four children, three of which are enrolled in the Boise School District.

 Trustee David Wagers

Dr. Troy Rohn, Trustee

Dr. Troy Rohn is a Professor in biology at Boise State University and holds a B.S. in Physiology from the University of California at Davis and a PH.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Washington. He and his wife Lisa have two children currently enrolled in the District.

With 12 years of experience at Boise State University, Dr. Rohn sees first hand how important a sound K-12 education is on the success of the same students who go on to college. Dr. Rohn's experience in teaching, research, serving as a Faculty Senator, and being on numerous departmental and university wide committees, has given him the necessary skills to work well with a team and serve the best interests of the students of the Boise School District.

Beth Oppenheimer, Trustee

Beth Oppenheimer was elected to the Board in September 2016. She is a longtime advocate for education and wants to ensure that all children and families have access to high quality educational opportunities.

Beth has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Montana. She currently serves as the Executive Director for the Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children and serves on various Boards and committees throughout the Treasure Valley which include the YMCA, Treasure Valley Education Partnership and the United Way Education Vision Council. Beth and her husband Jonathan have two daughters currently attending Liberty Elementary and East Junior High.

 Trustee Beth Oppenheimer

Dr. Don Coberly, Superintendent

Dr. Don Coberly has worked for the Boise School District since 1984. He has been a teacher at the elementary level in several districts, was Language Arts Supervisor for the Boise District from 1984-1994, and became the District's Curriculum Coordinator in 1994. He has Bachelor's Degrees in History and Elementary Education from the University of Idaho, a Master's Degree in Reading from Boise State University, and a Ph. D. from the University of Idaho in Education.

 Superintendent Dr. Don Coberly

Coby Dennis, Deputy Superintendent of Schools

Mr. Clay (Coby) Dennis has been dedicated to the field of education throughout his professional career. His service to the Boise school District, which began in 1991, has included being a classroom teacher and an assistant principal at both the Junior and Senior High level. He also has been a Junior High Principal and an Area Director. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, a Master's and Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho.
