3/23 - State Board of Education Closure Decision

Monday, March 23, 2020

Dear Boise School District Parents, Guardians & Staff,

Earlier today, the Idaho State Board of Education directed public school districts and charters to close all classroom or in-person learning through Monday, April 20, 2020.

In anticipation of a long term school closure, our staff has been working on how best we can meet the essential needs of our students and families.

For example, today we launched our Grab-and-Go Meal Service for students in need. In the next few days, we will announce how we intend to ensure that learning continues online and with paper resources if families do not have internet access. We are also working to try to provide computer and internet access for families in need.

We know that this time is very stressful and there are still many unanswered questions as to how the rest of the school year will play out. We have included the State Board of Education’s full news release and we encourage you to visit our Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage for regular updates.

Thank you for your continued support of Boise Schools.
