Hawthorne Elementary School was constructed in 1958. Hawthorne will receive a significant upgrade through the separation of the school's combined cafeteria/gymnasium/auditorium.
By providing dedicated, individual space to physical education, music and the cafeteria, Hawthorne will be better able to accommodate multiple events at one time and meet modern education standards.
November 6, 2019 Update: Construction of the LCA Architects designed new Kitchen/Cafeteria is nearly complete. Hedrick Construction is working on landscaping and other exterior finishes. Final inspections by the City of Boise are in progress and the Cafeteria/Kitchen will be turned on November 15.
February 5, 2020 Update (Hawthorne Old Kitchen Remodel): Existing asbestos containing materials have been abated. Hedrick Construction is in the process of framing walls and roughing in Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing systems. The project to provide additional classroom space is scheduled for completion this spring.
March 4, 2020 Update: Hedrick Construction is in the process of completing wall and floor finishes and installing new fixtures for additional classroom space in the old Kitchen area. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of March.
May 6, 2020 Update: The Hedrick Construction classroom renovation of the old Kitchen
is complete.
