Washington Elementary - Update

The present Washington School was built in 1911-12. With undersized classrooms, multiple portable classrooms and a small, combined gymnasium and cafeteria Washington ranked as the third worst elementary school for Educational Adequacy in the 2016 Facilities Audit.

A completely remodeled school will help meet modern education standards and improve student safety while preserving an iconic neighborhood school.

April 7, 2021 Update: Lombard Conrad Architects designed addition and renovation is in progress. Beniton Construction is managing the project. Painting is complete in the Cafeteria and Classrooms of the existing building. Exterior brick veneer installation is complete. Steel stud partition framing and drywall installation is currently in progress in the new addition. Occupancy is scheduled for the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
