Career Technical Education Exploration Events held at DTEC

  • Students in the Boise District participate in a variety of assessments during the school year. Assessments can be National, State, or District, depending on the grade level of the student. What do the assessments measure?

    National

    • NAEP - National Assessment of Educational Progress - Grades 4, 8, 12
      • The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is often referred to as the "Nation’s Report Card". The Idaho State Board of Education included NAEP in the state testing program because it lets us see how students in our state perform compared to students in other states across the country. Students in grades 4,8, and 12 are randomly selected to participate and will be assessed in reading, math, and science. Results are reported to and about the State. No results are reported to or about individual students or schools.

  • Boise School District Statement Regarding

    Reconsideration of Books & Materials

Every child in the Boise School District deserves to receive a high-quality education provided by our high-quality professional educators. To that end, the District utilizes a number of books and/or other materials to prepare our students for success in college, career, and citizenship. Boise School District’s curriculum aligns with the Idaho Core Curriculum Standards and can be found on the District’s Curriculum by Content Area website. We use a variety of materials to help students master the essential skills of each class.

As part of our commitment to provide the finest education possible, we follow the state textbook adoption procedure dictated by Idaho State Code 33-512A, which involves a rigorous process that provides multiple opportunities for public input before a particular textbook is adopted by the District. In addition, the District’s practice is to encourage parents/guardians to work together with their student’s teacher and/or school principal if questions arise as to the appropriateness of particular materials or textbooks for a given student. Parents always have a seat at the table when it comes to choices for their individual child’s education. Furthermore, the District has a Request for Reconsider of Books or Other Materials policy that may be followed.
