Dear Boise School District Community,

Welcome to Boise School District.

It is an honor to serve as Superintendent and to continue working alongside our outstanding students, families, staff, Board of Trustees, and community partners.

Public education has been my life’s work for more than 30 years. Throughout my career — as a teacher, administrator, and superintendent — I have remained guided by a simple belief: every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in a school where they feel supported, challenged, and inspired. I am incredibly honored to be part of a district that shares and lives this commitment.

Boise School District has a long-standing tradition of excellence and innovation. Our schools consistently rank among the best in Idaho and the nation, offering students exceptional academic opportunities, career and technical education pathways, fine arts programs, athletics, and extracurricular experiences that help prepare every student  for success beyond graduation.

These achievements are not accidental; they are driven by a clear purpose. Our mission is to ensure every student graduates prepared for college, career, and citizenship. Achieving that goal requires more than strong academics. It requires strong relationships, dedicated educators, engaged families, and a community that believes in the power of public education.

As Superintendent, my priority is to champion student success, support our staff and families, and strengthen our public schools. Together, we will honor Boise’s rich tradition of excellence while actively finding new ways to innovate and improve for the benefit of our entire community.

Central to that community-wide success is the belief that our neighborhood schools are where this impact begins. I believe neighborhood schools are at the heart of strong communities. When we invest in public education, we invest in our future workforce, our local economy, our civic institutions, and the quality of life that makes Boise such a special place to live and raise a family.

Our recently adopted Strategic Plan provides a clear roadmap for the future. Developed through input from students, staff, families, and community members, the plan reflects our shared commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, workforce development, operational excellence, and meaningful community partnerships. It is grounded in a simple but powerful goal: ensuring every student has the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the Board of Trustees and excited about the work ahead. Boise School District has an exceptional team of educators and staff members who care deeply about students and work tirelessly on their behalf every day. I look forward to partnering with them, and with you, as we continue serving the children and families of Boise.
