B-80-89 3 Point (Above Average) 4 Point (Above Average)

C-70-79 2 Point (Average) 3 Point (Average)

D-60-69 1 Point (Below Average) 2 Point (Below Average)

F or U-50-59 0 Point (Fail) 0 point (Fail)

Only change in this policy--if a teacher uses a 100 point scale, the lowest grade a student can receive is a 50. A 50 is still an F or U.

Purpose of change to create an equal distribution of points for each letter grade. If a teacher uses a 4 or 5 point scale they can still give zeros since they have equal distribution of points for each letter grade.
