The Idaho Speech Arts Teachers Association has announced that Timberline High School Speech Arts Teacher Kara Smith has been awarded the Idaho Speech Arts Teacher Teacher of the Year Award for 2020 by the members of the association at the ISATA annual conference (held virtually) on October 3rd.
"We are so fortunate to have teachers like Kara committed to speech arts programs in our state, and how lucky you are to have her at your school," wrote ISATA Vice President Sara Bell.
Kara was further bestowed the ISATA Hall of Fame Award. "As a teacher and coach for more 20 years, and several years as our State Speech Commissioner, Kara has made countless contributions to our community, elevating the 'game' for students not only at Timberline, but around the State of Idaho," added Bell.
